My Experience
- I Got: Sweet tea (not the sweetest but good), appetizer of mozzarella sticks which I have gotten twice and they are DELICIOUS, perfectly cooked, my cousin got crawdads which are VERY good surprisingly, especially if you like crab/lobster. Then for my entree, I got Mad Crabber Spicy Shrimp which is very spicy, cooked in peppers. It’s steamed so you have to peel them but they give you a large helping and the flavor is absolutely amazing. For my sides I got green beans (average… from a can it tasted like), and french fries, of which they have the BEST! *Note: Shrimp is MESSY and it’s no lie, it is spicy, but amazing.
-
It Cost: $22ish with my drink and tip, and appetizer
-
Wait Time: No wait time, I came with a small party, there are lots of places to sit.
Actual Review
- Cleanliness: 10/10 They use paper plates, paper towels, plastic cups and silverware… so you know it’s clean and it’s very handy to have a WHOLE ROLL of paper towels for your liking.
- Service: 10/10 Good service, helpful, quick.
- Wait Time: 10/10 Plenty of tables for large parties and I didn’t have to wait at all. However, driving by there later around 7:30 we saw a line all the way outside so, the key of the island is get to the restaurants at 5, or wait an hour.
- Family-Oriented: 9.5/10 Kids will LOVE this place. Some adults may find it fun but others may not like it as well. You sit on picnic tables and my grandmother really hated that because it was very uncomfortable. The party I went with this year though were all under 26 and we had a blast.
- Price: 9/10 Reasonable… some things are a little costy, but it’s average
- Taste: 9.5/10 Expected the green beans to be better since I love green beans so much but I should have just gotten 2 sides of fries because their fries are SOOOOOO good here.
- Atmosphere: 10/10 Decorations are lovely. Each table has paper on the table and lots of crayons so everyone can draw on the tables, it’s really neat and fun for both kids and adults! Some of the pictures they keep and hang on the wall.
- Location: 10/10 Although it’s kind of back from the road, it makes it more private so there is a large parking area, and the big sign in the front is really neat so, I can’t say it’s hard to find because you can’t miss it.
- Variety: 9.5/10 Not a lot of turf selections but there is every kind of seafood imaginable, steamed, fried, grilled, etc.
- Portion Size: 10/10 You’ll be stuffed and probably have to take some home. They give you your money’s worth.
- Overall Rating: 97.5/100
In conclusion,
- I would recommend this restaurant: DEFINITELY. It’s fun, especially for younger folk, the set up is so neat inside and there is even a pool table to play with while you are waiting on your food! The food itself, WELL worth the wait. I have come back here many times and it is definitely one of my FAVORITE restaurants.
- You should definitely try their: Mad Crabber Spicy Shrimp if you like spicy food… I’ve gotten it several times and I recommended it to my cousin and he enjoyed it. The flavor is superb. Most importantly, I don’t care how much you like baked potatoes, etc… TRY THE FRIES. Their fries are my favorite fries. Get a big basket of them, you’ll LOVE them.
